Narayan Sanyal was not only a diverse writer but also a talented civil engineer. He was born in the year 1924, in Krishna nagar, West Bengal. His writings were heavily influenced by foreign literatures. His writings were versatile in nature; for instance, he wrote for detective, science-fiction, memoirs, Psychological thriller, historical and for many other genres. His 'Kanta' detective series are famous. He finished 'Bishupal bodh' by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay as 'Bishupal Bodh: Uposonghar'. Some of his famous works are 'Satyakaam', 'Naagchampa', 'Pashondo Pandit', 'Biswasghatak', 'Antarleena' and others. He was awarded for his literary works with 'Rabindra Puroshkar', 'Bankim Puroskar' and many others. This legendary writer breathed his last in February 2005.
